Whenever the topic being discussed is either 'marriage' or 'wedding' at my age, if not often, occasionally we who started poking into the issue would be labeled as 'gatal' by our peers. I do not find their reasoning valid; it's only natural that us human will submit to our fitrah.
Let's be honest, is there any sane person on this planet Earth who prefer being single?

God created us in pairs, He commands us to love one another, to build homes and raise families. Isn't that just beautiful? If I remember correctly, the Prophet (pbuh) did told us in a Hadith;
Anas reported that some of the Companions of Allah's Apostle, the Prophet (pbuh) asked his (the Prophet's) wives about the acts that he performed in private. Someone among them (among his Companions) said: " I will not marry women " ; " someone among them said " : " I will not eat meat " ; and someone among them said: " I will not lie down in bed " . He (the Prophet) praised Allah and glorified Him, and said: " What has happened to these people that they say so and so, whereas I observe prayer and sleep too; I observe fast and suspend observing them; I marry women also? And he who turns away from my Sunnah, he has no relation with Me " .
With that said, I've one question for you; " What is the right age to get married these days? "
Islam is a practical religion, the believers can get closer to God and at the same time not neglecting their own needs. But don't forget that Islam also emphasize on discipline in its teachings, one doesn't simply practice polygamy recklessly without first think about its effects to his family and future family members. That's all the reason why you need to learn mukahat in the first place, good preparation always give better results. :)
